Tiddly-Wink Dominoes Rules of Play
Tiddly-Wink dominoes is a variation of the game of block dominoes and plays virtually in the same fashion except that players who play a double domino tile may play another tile before the end of their turn. Tiddly-Wink dominoes is best played with six to nine players and requires a double-six set. This game is best played with a large group of players rather than a smaller group of less than six players.
To begin game play, the dominoes are shuffled and each player then draws three tiles to make up their domino hand. The remainder of the tiles are put in the boneyard but are not used for the game.
The game starts with the player who holds the highest double domino placing their tile on the board. Play continues in a clockwise direction with each player either playing a domino or passing. In Tiddly-Wink dominoes, only one end is open-on the last tile played.
If a player places a double domino, including the first tile of the round, that player may choose to play another tile if he or she is able. However, it is not required to place another tile after laying down a double domino.
The game hand ends when a player uses all of his or her tiles or when the game is blocked and none of the players can play any more dominoes.
Tiddly-Wink dominoes is usually played as an ante game-each player places an ante, or bet, at the start of a hand and the lightest-hand winner gets the pot. This game can be played for cash, chips or any other wager.
