Tiddle-a-Wink Domino Rules
Tiddle-a-Wink is a variation of the game of block dominoes, playing virtually in the same fashion except that the players of Tiddle-a-Wink who plays a double domino tile may play another tile before the end of his or her turn. The game is played similarly to Tiddly-Wink, which typically uses a double-six set of dominoes.
The size of the set used for a Tiddle-a-Wink dominoes game will be dependant on the number of players participating. This game is played with two or more players and works well with large groups of participants.
For two to three players, a double-six set of dominoes is required. Four to six players of a Tiddle-a-Wink domino game will require a double-nine set while a double-twelve set of dominoes is needed for seven to ten players.
To play Tiddle-a-Wink dominoes, the dominoes are shuffled and each players draws an equal amount of tiles to make up their domino hand. Remaining tiles are kept in the 'boneyard' but are not used.
Game play begins with the player who holds the highest double domino placing that tile on the board. Game play continues clockwise with each player, in turn, either playing a domino or passing their turn.
If a player plays a double tile, including the first tile of the hand, that player may play again if they are able to, however it is not required.
The hand ends when a player plays all his or her tiles or when the game is blocked and no one can play. The lightest hand wins the total of the opponents points minus the points in their own hand. A game of Tiddle-a-Wink is generally played to 100 or 200 points.
