Chickenfoot (Chickie Dominoes) 

For a game of chickenfoot dominoes follow the same essential set-up and play procedure as a standard game of draw. Place all the dominoes face-down on the table and have each player randomly select five dominos to form their hand. A round of chickenfoot dominoes begins with the player holding the highest double, often the double-six.

Assuming the double-six was the initial domino placed, play then proceeds counter-clockwise with every player placing a domino with a six on it next to a free side of the double-six until all four sides are occupied. If a player does not possess a six they must draw a domino from the 'bone yard'. If the domino drawn has a six it is played immediately; if not, the player simply states "pass" and play continues around the table. No other dominos can be placed until all four sides of the double-six are occupied. Once this is done play proceeds with players playing any domino in their hand that matches an exposed number on the board, and drawing a domino when their hand presents no possible play.

The chickenfoot, however, adds an additional twist. Whenever a player places any double, say a double-3 at the end of a 6-3 domino, they place it perpendicular to the exposed number and announce "Chickie threes". Until three more -3's are placed against the double no other dominoes may be played. The term 'chickenfoot' refers to the shape the dominoes on the table will make in such a situation: one -3 perpendicular to the double and two others placed 45 degrees to the perpendicular.

The round continues until a player runs out of dominoes or no player is capable of making a legal play. Once over, every player adds the total number of dots on the dominoes still in their hand to determine their score for that round. A full game of chickenfoot dominoes consists of seven rounds and a player's final score is the sum of their seven scores. Whoever has the lowest score wins.
